SOMOS PRIVACY POLICY

Somos respects the privacy of every guest. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data. By booking, checking in, using our website or providing personal data to Somos, guests consent to its collection and use as described in this policy. Guests who provide personal data on behalf of others, such as companions in their reservation, confirm that they are authorized to do so.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the information needed to provide our services and operate the house safely. This includes contact details, passport or government-issued ID, reservation and payment details, charges made during the stay, guest preferences and feedback, CCTV footage of shared and outdoor areas, and website data collected through cookies.

2. HOW WE USE IT

We use personal data to manage reservations, payments and charges (including charges made after check-out in line with our Hotel Policies), verify identity and age, meet our legal obligations, communicate with guests, protect the safety and security of our guests, team and property, prevent fraud, improve our services and, where guests have agreed, send news and offers. We may also use personal data, including CCTV footage, to investigate incidents and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

3. SHARING

Guest data is kept private and used only by Somos. Somos does not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only where necessary with the service providers that support our operations (such as reservation, payment and email providers), the booking partner through which a reservation was made, our professional advisers and insurers, a successor in the event of a sale or restructuring of the business, and authorities where required by law or where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Somos, our guests or our team. Some service providers are located outside Costa Rica, and guests consent to this transfer.

4. RETENTION & SECURITY

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for these purposes, or as required by law or for legal claims. We use reasonable measures to protect it. Payment card data is processed by secure third-party providers and is not stored on our own systems. No system is completely secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Somos accepts no liability for unauthorized access to personal data beyond its reasonable control, or for the privacy practices of third-party websites and booking platforms.

5. YOUR RIGHTS

In accordance with Costa Rican Law No. 8968, guests may request to access, correct or delete their personal data, or withdraw consent at any time, including unsubscribing from marketing. Somos may need to verify identity before responding, and may retain data where required by law or for legal claims. Our services are intended for guests aged 18 and over.

6. CHANGES & CONTACT
