Manifesto
We started with a simple idea, to build the kind of place we were always hoping to find. Somewhere that didn’t make you choose between rest and adventure, comfort and character, solitude and good company.
What grew from that brings together a place to stay, a shaping bay, a kitchen, a studio, a space to move, sweat and recover, and plenty of room for people to cross paths. Surf runs through it, creativity keeps changing it, and every person who passes through leaves something behind.

Two coastlines, one spirit. Find us in the jungle-lined surf town of Santa Teresa and on the wild, uncrowded shores of Avellanas. Both houses are built around the same things: good waves, good food, and good people.

Bad roads lead to good places. Santa Teresa, a hidden gem on the Nicoya Peninsula, is the ultimate destination for surfers, adventurers, and free spirits alike. This laid-back beach town is known for world-class surf, breathtaking sunsets, and a vibrant community, but getting here can be an adventure of its own. Whether you're landing in San José or Liberia, here's how to reach us.
Flights
The easiest and most scenic route. Sansa and Green Airways run daily 30-minute flights from San José and Liberia to Cobano Airport, just a 25-minute drive from Somos. Domestic flights only operate during the day, so plan your arrival accordingly.
Car rental
For those who believe the journey matters as much as the destination. From San José, drive two hours to Puntarenas and take the ferry across the Gulf of Nicoya to Paquera. From Liberia, plan on 3.5 to 5 hours around the peninsula. Roads are paved until you reach Santa Teresa, where the dirt begins. Offsite parking is available.
