Josh Peterson
Oahu / East Coast
Josh Peterson makes color do more than sit on a surface. Resin tints, sharp pinlines, fabric inlays and abstract pours come from the same hands that shape his boards. An East Coast start at WRV grew into a practice where building and making art are closely tangled. The glassing room gave him a considerable palette.
Resin and fiberglass become his painting materials, with a boardbuilder’s attention to layers, edges and finish carried into the artwork. At SOMOS, that puts him in familiar territory, somewhere between a shaping bay and an art studio. Get close. Follow the color and the places where it breaks loose. There’s a lot happening along those edges.
