Forrest Minchinton

Surfboards and dirt bikes. Foam dust and desert miles. Forrest Minchinton grew up with both, learning the craft around his father Mike and taking it into his own shaping rooms, including one in the Mojave desert. Huntington Beach roots, Costa Rican formative years and plenty of dusty roads between the two.

Forrest is part of the foundation here. A founding member of SOMOS and our original resident shaper, he helped design and build our shaping studios and helped turn the residency into a place for boardbuilders to work, swap knowledge and most importantly, get wet.
