Caracas roots. A California shaping room. Oscar Guruceaga brings the two together through Guru Shapes, building boards by hand in Oceanside. His work runs through fish, shortboards and longboards, with classic lines and the individual surfer guiding the shape.

Oscar’s approach puts the craft up front: learn from the builders before you, pay attention to the details and keep refining. A custom starts with the person who will paddle it out. Bring your habits, your home break and the things you wish your current board did better.
